Job summary

Magellan Health, Inc. is seeking an On Site Victim Advocate at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii to support the Army’s Family Advocacy Program (FAP) and Victim Advocacy Program (VAP).

The VA provides crisis intervention, emotional support, transportation, and coordination with medical, legal and law enforcement resources to assist and advocate for domestic abuse victims. The role serves Soldiers, Families, and Civilians on and off post, conducting risk assessments, safety planning, and referrals while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling or related fields.
• Two years of experience working with victims of domestic abuse/sexual assault or victim advocacy services.
• Working knowledge of family violence dynamics, safety planning, risk assessments, local resources, and laws pertaining to domestic abuse.

Responsibilities

• Provides crisis intervention and comprehensive services to address victims of domestic abuse.
• Assesses risks and safety needs; develops safety plans and refers to appropriate services.
• Maintains ongoing case management and completes data entry within three business days.
• On-call 24 hours/7 days per week victim advocacy services and liaison with agencies as needed.
