Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and one year as Mental Health Specialist I or equivalent.
• WA Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC/NAR) required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Code Gray alerts and crisis situations, securing patients and assisting staff during emergencies.
• Participate in crisis intervention/crisis prevention training.
• Contribute to patient assessment and discharge planning with the team.
• Examine new patient belongings and remove hazards to health and safety.
• Check visitors and remove hazardous items that could put patients or staff at risk.
• Participate in suicide assessments.
• Alert nurse to changes in patient behavior or distress and report it.
• Deliver notices to patients regarding court procedures and assist with court paperwork.
• Assist patients in obtaining treatment through court-mandated processes such as 24-hour treatment notices.
• Perform basic physical care and other tasks delegated by RNs.
