Job summary

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Social Worker to join our Safe Harbor team within the Department of Detention and Corrections. You will provide crisis intervention, assessments, counseling, and case management to residents experiencing homelessness and those re-entering the community from the criminal justice system.

Ideal candidates are adaptable, engage with law enforcement and community partners, maintain composure in crisis, and help connect clients with resources to move

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice or related field.
• Two years’ experience in a correctional environment or related case management.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Credit check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Crisis intervention and assessments for residents.
• Counseling and case management to address housing and social needs.
• Referrals to services and supports to promote stability.
• Coordinate care with law enforcement, treatment providers, and community partners.
