Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Recovery Counselor for the MLK Crisis Residential Treatment Program in Los Angeles, CA. The role is on-call with hourly compensation between $20.00 and $21.00, offering direct care to clients and collaboration with a treatment team.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean facility, assisting with daily tasks, and potentially driving clients in the company vehicle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED/HiSET) required.
• One year of full-time equivalent experience in a program serving individuals with mental disabilities OR completion of 20 hours of regulated on-the-job training within the first year of employment.
• Valid California Driver's License; CNA preferred; ServSafe Food Handler Certification and First Aid within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to meet physical and psychosocial needs of clients under supervision.
• Maintain safe, clean, and therapeutic environment; assist with laundry and housekeeping as needed.
• Be added to Approved Driver list and drive clients in company vehicle as requested.
• Screen incoming clients/visitors for contraband and inventory client property; monitor surveillance as needed.

Education

CA Driver's License (required)

CNA (preferred)

ServSafe Food Handler Certification (required within 90 days)

First Aid Certification (required within 90 days)
