Job summary

Center For Family Services in Denville, NJ is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse Supervisor for the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center (CRSC). This 24-hour mental health crisis service provides therapeutic interventions for adults, focusing on safety and coordinated care.

The role oversees clinical operations, conducts assessments, and prescribes medications within scope. NJ RN and APN licensure, ANCC psychiatry cert, and 2 years of behavioral health experience are

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited university.
• ANCC certification in psychiatry is required.
• Current New Jersey RN and APN license in good standing.
• Valid CDS registration and DEA certification.
• Two years post-bachelor experience in behavioral health with mental health evaluations, medication management, and counseling.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and treat CRSC consumers.
• Provide care for clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Develop comprehensive behavioral health assessments and involve families as indicated.
• Create crisis care plans with family involvement and regular re-evaluation.
• Prescribe medications within license and center formulary, including controlled substances and MAT.
• Offer medication evaluation, counseling and psychoeducation to consumers and caregivers.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests; complete psychiatric evaluations and progress notes.
• Provide supervision to RN, APN, and CMA staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate records in the electronic health record system.
• Adhere to policies on sample medication inventory and participate in performance improvement.
