Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a qualified mental health clinician to perform initial needs assessments, determine appropriate services, and facilitate referrals for individuals with mental health or chemical dependency concerns. You will also assist police, physicians and the public in initiating involuntary commitments when needed.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in a mental health field, 3–5 years of assessment and crisis intervention experience; a master's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health, Counseling, Social Work, psychology or related field.
• 3-5 years’ experience in assessment and crisis intervention with mental health/addiction populations.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes AHN’s Core Behaviors to collaborate for assessment, plan, and disposition.
• Engages as part of the unit team to provide coverage per Hospital responsibility.
• Provides backup coverages to units including responding to organizational codes.
• Effectively communicates patient needs, referrals, and disposition with team.
