Job summary

The Centers is seeking a Milieu Specialist II in Cleveland, OH to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients in mental health crises. You will monitor the milieu, support recovery, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care across shifts.

The role involves coordinating unit activities, leading daily reports, crisis intervention, documentation, and active participation in treatment planning. Evening and day shifts, 24 hours per week, are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or similar de-escalation training (or willingness to complete upon hire).
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with mental health or behavioral health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic milieu for patients in crisis.
• Monitor patient behavior and environmental safety; intervene to prevent harm.
• Facilitate therapeutic activities and groups to promote recovery and coping skills.
• Provide direct care and support to patients, assist with ADLs as needed.
• De-escalate crisis situations using verbal intervention and trauma-informed care.
