Job summary

The Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center, Inc. seeks a Crisis Mental Health Professional to deliver timely crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization for patients across Behavioral Health programs.

The role includes collaboration with treatment teams, care coordination, and evidence-based practice to support patients with acute psychiatric symptoms, suicide risk, and SPMI. The clinician will provide consultation, follow-up, and trauma-informed care, while maintaining confidentiality and

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.
• Currently licensed in Wisconsin to provide clinical care preferred (LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
• Clinical supervision for LPC-ITs is provided by the organization.
• Experience working in Tribal Health, IHS or similar settings with Native American clients.

Responsibilities

• Conducts timely crisis and risk assessments for patients presenting with acute psychiatric or safety concerns.
• Determines clinical disposition and collaborates on safety and stabilization plans.
• Provides follow-up to promote continuity of care after crises or hospital visits.
• Offers clinical consultation and care coordination with therapists, medical providers and care teams.
• Completes timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and referrals in the EMR.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per federal and state requirements.
• Leads clinical efforts in Roots to Wellness SPMI program and crisis prevention initiatives.
• Supports postvention and coordination with community partners.
