Job summary

BestResponse Crisis Center in Buffalo, NY, seeks a Peer Specialist to support families with youths facing behavioral health challenges. This non-exempt, full-time role offers pay from $17.33 to $20.00 per hour, plus crisis, shift, and language differentials.

Shifts include 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, and 12am-8am, with coverage on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include outreach, advocacy, group facilitation, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, while maintaining

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalency.
• Provisional or full peer certification required.
• 2 years of experience working with children & families preferred.
• Must demonstrate lived experience as parent/caregiver for children with support needs.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Valid NYS Driver's License and driving eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provides outreach, engagement, bridging and transition support.
• Provides individual and family advocacy on site or in the field.
• Refers families to ancillary services and runs family education groups.
• Meets agency KPIs and represents the program in interagency meetings.
• Promotes wellness and maintains participant confidentiality per HIPAA.
