Job summary

Better Together is seeking a Family Support Manager to oversee the Better Families Program in Southwest Florida, guiding crisis‑affected families toward stability and reunification. You will assess needs, coordinate volunteer host families, develop Support Plans, and mentor families to outcomes.

Requires a social work degree (MSW preferred), field experience with vulnerable families, and ability to work remotely with occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Florida Child Welfare Certification preferred.
• Fieldwork: work primarily in the community we serve, with direct engagement with families/volunteers.
• Transportation: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and car insurance required.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends; on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs and strengths of parents, children, and volunteer families to inform placement decisions.
• Match volunteer families with families seeking support and develop their matching.
• Develop individualized Support Plans based on assessments and needs.
• Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to families to implement the plan and achieve goals.
• Promote development of social and personal competence and support progress toward goals.
