Job Description

Responsible for providing emergency crisis intervention services, including patient assessment and counseling.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Conduct evaluation interviews and provide clinical assessments of emotional and behavioral disorders.
  2. Conduct evaluation interviews and provide clinical assessments of alcohol and substance abuse disorders.
  3. Analyze and prioritize significant problem areas for intervention, utilizing advanced clinical psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, and community resource knowledge and skills.
  4. Serve as a consultant to emergency department staff in identifying patient problems, disposition needs, and seeking therapeutic solutions.
  5. Provide specialized crisis intervention and referral services to hotline callers.
  6. Demonstrate expertise in psychosocial assessment, crisis counseling, stabilization, goal establishment and documentation, and interventions aimed at achieving those goals.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, healthcare, or a related field, with willingness to obtain NJ Psychiatric screening certification within 6 months of hire.
  2. OR certified NJ Psychiatric/Mental Health Screener with a bachelor's degree.

Valid NJ or PA driver's license, a clean driving record, and ability to operate a company vehicle.

Preferred:

  • Healthcare or related license preferred, such as LCSW/LPC/LSW/LAC or NJ licensed psychologist.
