Job summary

Advantage Behavioral Health Systems in Athens, GA seeks a Clinician to provide crisis assessments, psychosocial evaluations, treatment planning, monitoring, and discharge planning in a Behavioral Health Crisis Center.

The Clinician delivers immediate intervention for clients in acute mental health and/or substance use crises and coordinates services with an interdisciplinary team for safe transitions of care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related area from an accredited college or university.
• Associate licensure in the state of Georgia (Clinician 2).
• Full clinical licensure in the state of Georgia (Clinician 3).

Responsibilities

• Performs crisis assessments of behavioral health needs for individuals presenting for crisis services.
• Determines appropriate services and recommends alternate care plans within established time frames.
• Completes or directs the intake process with medical, psychological, and financial information.
• Utilizes de-escalation skills to prevent escalation and avoid physical restraints.
• Maintains documentation of assessments and clinical activities accurately and timely.
• Writes progress notes in accordance with policy and documentation standards.
• Collaborates with community partners and internal teams to coordinate care.
• Coordinates discharge planning, including transportation and follow-up arrangements.
• Maintains professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, and continuing education.
