Job summary

Adult & Child Health in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to support individuals on their recovery journey within Crisis Services. You will use lived experience to inspire, coach, and connect clients with resources, developing personalized recovery plans and providing ongoing emotional support.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in meetings, and help navigate community services while upholding confidentially and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be willing to self-identify as a present or former client of mental health and/or substance use services.
  • Requires one year of direct and personal experience with the mental health system as a primary consumer of services.
  • Able to complete a state-approved Certified Peer Support training program and other required trainings within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with individuals to develop personalized treatment plans that address their needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with referral sources and guardians about progress and planning.
  • Participate in meetings to ensure continuity of care for individuals.
  • Assist in researching and referring individuals to outside resources when necessary.
  • Schedule treatment appointments and provide transportation to and from Recovery Supports and community-based services.
  • Support clients in accessing medical services and documenting services per state and federal standards.
