Job summary

Adult & Child Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to support individuals on their recovery journey. You will collaborate on personalized plans, maintain liaison with guardians, arrange appointments, provide transportation, and accompany clients to sessions when appropriate, all while upholding recovery-oriented care.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, group education, and helping clients access medical services and community supports, including mutual aid

Qualifications

• Must self-identify as a present or former client of mental health and/or substance use services, or as a person in recovery.
• Requires one year of direct, personal experience with the mental health system as a primary consumer of services.
• Able to complete a state-approved Certified Peer Support training program within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular communication with referral sources and guardians about progress and planning.
• Schedule treatment appointments and provide transportation to Recovery Support Services and community-based services.
