Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. at Cedar Springs Hospital seeks a licensed professional to perform crisis evaluations, preauthorization requests and coordinate admissions. Responsibilities include answering calls, evaluating for involuntary commitments and making referrals for appropriate care.

Vitals, breathalyzer tests and temperature checks are conducted at evaluation time. Open availability is required with immediate consideration for overnight schedules; strong knowledge of mental health

Qualifications

• Requires analytical skills, high level clinical skills and knowledge of mental health statutes.
• Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and state involuntary commitment requirements.
• Strong organizational, verbal and customer service abilities; professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Perform crisis evaluations and preauthorization requests, coordinate admissions.
• Answer calls, assess for involuntary holds, and make clinical referrals as needed.
• Collaborate with community providers and coordinate internal Cedar Springs admissions.
• Perform vitals, breathalyzer tests and temperature checks at evaluation.
