Proclinical Group seeks a Crimp Technician (contract) in Irvine, CA, to join the medical device manufacturing team. You will perform production assembly, operate and maintain equipment, and uphold GMP and quality standards in a hands-on environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or associate degree, English proficiency, and experience with manufacturing instrumentation. Prior robotics/automation exposure is preferred, along with strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and gauge blocks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Experience in manufacturing, especially discrete assembly/ robotics, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of automated machines, tools, and production processes.
  • Basic arithmetic, algebra, or geometry.
  • Root cause analysis/problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and perform minor repairs on equipment while following safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor raw material feeds, clear stoppages, and address faults on automated equipment.
  • Use HMIs to identify and correct process control shifts.
  • Prepare raw materials and ensure timely execution to meet schedules.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical errors or safety issues using provided tools.
  • Use computer systems for material inventory and quality management.

Education

High school diploma or associate degree

Crimp Technician - Contract - Irvine, CA

Proclinical is seeking a Crimping Department Technician to join a dynamic team in the medical device manufacturing industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

In this role, you will work on detailed production assembly tasks, operate and maintain equipment, and ensure quality standards are met. This position requires a hands‑on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Skills & Requirements:
  • High school diploma or associate degree.
  • Proficiency in English for reading documentation, communication, and writing.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing instrumentation such as micrometers, calipers, and gauge blocks.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in manufacturing, particularly with discrete assembly and robotics, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of automated machines, tools, and production processes.
  • Basic understanding of arithmetic, algebra, or geometry.
  • Problem‑solving skills, including root cause analysis techniques.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs as required.
The Crimp Technician's responsibilities will be:
  • Set up, operate, and perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment while adhering to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Monitor and maintain raw material feeds, clear stoppages, and address faults on automated equipment.
  • Use human‑machine interfaces (HMIs) to identify and correct process control shifts.
  • Prepare raw materials and ensure timely job execution to meet delivery schedules.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical errors or safety issues using provided troubleshooting tools.
  • Utilize computer systems for material inventory and quality management processes.
  • Support new product design transfers, process development, and equipment/process validations.
  • Use measuring tools to ensure correct tolerances and product specifications.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for material handling, record‑keeping, packaging, and shipment preparation.
  • Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment suitable for medical device manufacturing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation:
  • $18 to $21 per hour.
