Qualifications

• Requires membership in the CA State Bar Association and license to practice in all state courts.

• Ability to speak and write effectively in preparing and presenting legal cases.

Responsibilities

• Tries jury and bench criminal cases and litigates hearings in San Francisco Superior Court.
• Represents the People of the State of California in person and in petitions, motions, and appeals; prepares court documents.
• Interviews witnesses; conducts investigations and writes legal briefs with assigned cases and trials.
• Prepares daily court calendar and maintains warrants, citations, and related records.
• Maintains files and conducts background checks; transports relevant materials to court.
• Investigates complaints from the public and police to determine citations or warrants; issues citations.
• Researches legal issues for prosecution duties and may represent the DA to other agencies.
• Placement across Criminal Division units and collaboration with diverse communities.

Education
