Job summary

Woodbury County seeks an Assistant County Attorney to prosecute indictable misdemeanors, OWI offenses, and related crimes in Woodbury County, under the County Attorney. You will engage in case preparation, review police reports, and coordinate with law enforcement, victims, and witnesses to secure charging decisions.

You must be a licensed Iowa attorney or eligible for admission, with strong legal research, writing, and communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team while

Qualifications

Must be licensed to practice law in Iowa or eligible for admission as described in the posting.
Proven integrity and good moral character.
Strong knowledge of Iowa Code, Criminal Procedure and Rules of Evidence.

Responsibilities

Prosecute criminal violators of State laws in Woodbury County, including case preparation and trial.
Review police reports and coordinate with law enforcement, victims, and witnesses for charging decisions.
Appear in District and Magistrate Courts for arraignments and hearings; prepare motions and briefs.
