Job summary

Columbia College in South Carolina invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track Chair of Criminal Justice starting January or August 2027, depending on the successful candidate’s availability. The college seeks candidates with a commitment to teaching excellence, leadership, and scholarship.

The Chair will provide leadership for all Criminal Justice initiatives, oversee curricula and SLOs, hire and mentor adjunct faculty, coordinate courses for undergraduate and graduate programs, and

Qualifications

• PhD must be completed by the time of appointment.
• Minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience.
• Ability to design and deliver courses in online and face-to-face formats.
• Experience with program assessment, budgeting, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for all Criminal Justice initiatives.
• Oversees and updates curricula and student learning outcomes (SLOs).
• Schedules undergraduate and graduate courses and manages program reviews.
• Hires, mentors, and supervises adjunct faculty.
• Coordinates admissions, marketing materials, and advising for students.
