Position Summary

The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content to students.
  • Prepare course materials and lesson plans; grade student work and provide timely, robust feedback.
  • address student questions in line with university, college/school, and department policies.
  • Provide online or in-person academic support as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment.
  • Ensure instruction aligns with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and department policies (including any coordination policies).
  • Maintain office hours and comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
  • Adapt and learn new modes of instruction; be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Plus one to two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Cybersecurity, or related field, plus four years of relevant experience; or JD, plus four years of relevant experience; or Doctorate in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Cybersecurity, or related field, plus four years of relevant experience.
Terms of Employment
  • Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis.
  • Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program.
  • All teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment; qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person on campus upon hire.
Salary
