Job description

Adjunct Faculty (Temporary, Part‑time) Opportunities

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build a qualified pool of candidates for adjunct faculty positions. Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or one of the college’s six county centers (Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick). Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as‑needed basis as teaching opportunities become available.

Responsibilities

• Teach a diverse student body in accordance with established syllabi at various locations
• Utilize instructional technology and apply a variety of effective teaching methods
• Plan, manage, and deliver course instruction
• Follow all EPA and OSHA regulations that pertain to the program
• Participate in college functions as needed
• Apply teaching practices that support continuous improvement of both the program and the college
• Serve as a professional team member who supports the mission and vision of the college while performing all duties with the highest level of quality and service

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in one of the qualifying fields is required.

Additional Requirements

• CRJ 115 and CRJ 120 must be taught by individuals who possess either a Juris Doctorate or a master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field such as Criminology or Criminal Justice Administration.
