Qualifications

• Course specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices.
• Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred.
• Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives and Concourse syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students.
• Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments.
• Provide feedback and evaluate students’ performance throughout the learning process, which may involve being available for student conferences either before or after class, and via College email if necessary.
• Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades, attendance records, and required course related data.
• Use educational technology such as Canvas.
• Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results.
• Maintain currency in professional field.
• Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence.
