Job summary

The Lane County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced, sworn law enforcement professional to conduct complex criminal investigations and support Deputy District Attorneys throughout case preparation and trial.

The investigator will interview witnesses and suspects, gather and analyze evidence, prepare warrants and reports, and coordinate with legal teams to ensure evidence is well-documented and ready for court or grand jury.

Qualifications

• Five years of education and/or experience in criminal justice, criminal law, social work, or a related field.
• Active basic certification as a Police Officer by the state of Oregon POST or ability to reactive within 6 months.
• Valid Oregon Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original and follow-up investigations involving criminal matters.
• Interview witnesses and suspects; gather and analyze evidence.
• Prepare search warrants, investigative reports, and exhibits for court or grand jury.
• Serve subpoenas and arrest warrants; make arrests when necessary.
• Collaborate with attorneys and law enforcement partners to support case preparation and trial.
