Criminal Intelligence Analyst / Forensic Information Manager


Location: Forensic Exploitation Department (FXD) Gillem Enclave, Forest Park GA)

Job Description:

Amentum is currently seeking a Criminal Intelligence Analyst III/Forensic Information Manager to support our customer needs at Gillem Enclave Forest Park, GA and forward deployed forensic laboratories. The Criminal Intelligence Analyst will perform highly advanced (senior level) criminal intelligence (CRIMINT) research and analysis work. Additionally, they ensure all forensic information is seamlessly integrated into all exploitation enterprise applications including protection, all-source analysis and targeting, countermeasure development, and identity activities. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs criminal intelligence and forensic exploitation research and analysis involving complex data analysis and a variety of analytic tools to identify patterns of criminal activity related to military threat actors and vulnerabilities.
  • Creates, reviews, and presents detailed reports, documents, and briefings on criminal intelligence analysis and/or forensic information and disseminates products to appropriate stakeholders or law enforcement agencies.
  • Researches, formats, and disseminates information resulting from forensic exploitation including all disciplines in forward deployed Forensic Exploitation Laboratories (FXLs). Ensures all data is organized and shared in accordance with knowledge management principles and maintains key metrics on effects resulting from exploitation activities.
  • Identifies analytic requirements necessary to support the decision-making cycle, then develops, tracks, and manages requests for information (RFIs) to designated intelligence support activities and higher headquarters to ensure CRIMINT and laboratory information outputs are properly shared and analyzed.
  • Works closely with organizations at the tactical, Task Force, Component, Combatant Command, Service Intelligence Centers, or Intelligence Community level for specialized support such as document and media exploitation (DOMEX), identity intelligence (I2), threat actor watch listing, weapons technical intelligence (WTI), scientific and technical intelligence (S&T), or Foreign Materiel (FM).
  • Serves as a liaison for FXLs with internal and external groups and individuals to coordinate and integrate exploitation effects, provide analytical assistance, recommend applications of forensic information, and integrate laboratory information capabilities and outputs with operations, intelligence, and law enforcement working groups and boards for assigned command.
  • Maintains awareness of the operational environment and higher headquarters priorities and makes recommendations on strategies and collection plans so CRIMINT or forensic exploitation information outputs provide the maximum impact on the supported commands’ critical information or intelligence requirements.
  • Participates in capability demonstrations, subject matter expert exchanges (SMEEs), and exercises to demonstrate how integrated CRIMINT or forensic information outputs provide an information advantage and briefs those capabilities to event participants.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five years (5) experience in criminal intelligence analysis or experience in all-source analysis or application of forensic exploitation activities, weapons technical intelligence, or identity activities in support of the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Five (5) years of experience using and generating intelligence products with fusion of forensic and biometric data providing biometrics-enabled identity analysis and performing extensive searches in a variety of biometric systems or repositories (internal or external systems) to formulate an identity resolution/adjudication analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred, although we will also consider candidates with significant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of intelligence gathering; intelligence and crime analysis processes, methodologies, and principles; statistical analysis and probability modeling; human behavior and group dynamics; law enforcement operations, procedures, and regulations; and report writing and presentation.
  • Knowledge of the utilization of forensic exploitation data including latent fingerprints, DNA profiles, forensic chemistry, firearms and toolmark analysis; specialized DoD experience analyzing the key nodes and facilitation elements of asymmetric threat systems including proxy groups employing improvised threats such as unmanned aerial systems (UASs) or improvised explosive devices (IEDs); specialized DoD experience within the fields of collected exploitable material (CEM), forensic-enabled intelligence (FEI), weapons technical intelligence (WTI), biometrics, or identity activities, as defined in Army FM 2-0.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to a wide range of stakeholders including senior leaders; ability to provide clear and concise written reports; to use charts, graphs, and geospatial mapping to provide information on crime series, patterns, and trends.
  • Ability to use initiative and recommend new procedures; to set priorities, goals, and deadlines; and to work in harmony on a team in a deployed environment.
  • Skilled in the use of a computer and applicable software to research, format, and disseminate information.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and support technical positions, to justify technical recommendations, and to write technical publications and reports.
  • Demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft applications Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Deployment experience in support of named operations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a DOD Top Secret clearance.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a medical assessment per customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in areas of study in criminal justice, homeland security, or intelligence or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
  • Prior experience working in or with forensic laboratories.

Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards. This position requires OCONUS deployment travel in support of forward deployed Forensic Exploitation Laboratories.
