• Commitment to practicing criminal defense primarily.
• Experience or strong interest in DUI and/or sex-crime defense.
• Excellent written, oral, analytical, and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage a significant caseload with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients charged with criminal offenses from arraignment through trial.
• Develop and execute individualized defense strategies for each case.
• Handle DUI/DWI matters, including investigations and testing issues.
• Manage sex-crime cases, including serious felony and misdemeanor charges.
• Conduct client and witness interviews, legal research, and factual investigations.
• Draft and argue pretrial motions, including motions to suppress.
• Negotiate with prosecutors and prepare for litigation when necessary.
• Prepare cases for hearings, evidentiary proceedings, and jury trials.
• Appear regularly in state and/or federal courts.
• Maintain communication with clients and their families.
• Collaborate with the defense team, including investigators and experts.
• Maintain detailed case files and court calendars.
• Stay current on developments in criminal law and forensic evidence.
