The Nieves Law Firm, APC is looking for a full-time Jr. Criminal Defense Associate in Oakland, California. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of criminal defense experience, strong research and writing skills, and a commitment to high-quality client service. The position offers a salary range of $100,000 – $135,000 depending on experience, alongside various benefits including health plans, 401(k), and more.

As a fast-paced role, candidates must be high-energy and able to manage their time effectively while maintaining excellent client relationships. Previous experience with jury trials and post-conviction remedies is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of Criminal Defense experience.
• Willingness to travel throughout Alameda County and surrounding Bay Area.
• Experience with jury trial, preliminary hearing, and misdemeanor cases preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
• Prepare for hearings in advance and advocate for clients.
• Draft and submit motions on time.
