The Center is staffed with a team of crime analysts and sworn law enforcement members who support area law enforcement agencies in their efforts to track and reduce Part I Crime.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSJob duties specific to this position:Perform a variety of research and analytical tasks.Collect, compile, validate, interpret, and analyze data and trends using standard practices and techniques of crime and/or law enforcement intelligence analysis.Perform statistical, spatial, and/or qualitative analyses as needed, making use of standard software packages.Work on assignments that are moderately complex under direct or indirect supervision, where there is latitude for independent action and decision-making.Prepare and deliver reports and presentations of analytic results and may be subpoenaed to testify in court proceedings.Provide crime analysis and criminal intelligence support to law enforcement as they respond to, investigate, and otherwise address criminal activity.Any other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.Flexibility to work evening/weekend shifts will be required.Job expectations for all Le Moyne College employees:Demonstrates and role-models all of Le Moyne’s mission-based competencies (collaboration, communication, diversity, integrity, leadership and service) in every interaction with all community members and external parties.Strengthen digital literacy skills through education and the application of digital technologies in order to effectively engage in information gathering, utilization and data management while promoting a security culture.Supports cura personalis by treating all individuals with dignity, professionalism and kindness.Promotes cura apostolica by aligning professional goals, objectives, and performance with college’s strategic goals.Demonstrates excellent work attendance, reliability and work ethic.Attends and actively participates in required meetings and training sessions.Complies and adheres to all of Le Moyne’s established policies, procedures and codes of conduct at all times, including all health and safety requirements and regulations, to promote desired behavior and build awareness.Must complete all required federal, state, institution and department trainings.Engages in a planned program of professional development. Continually maintains skills and knowledge relative to the position and technology industry including best practice, evolving operational requirements, and industry trends.Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSA Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, criminology, public administration, or a related field0-1 year experience in the field of criminology, criminal justice research, or criminal justice policy.Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
