Job summary

AUTOKINITON is seeking a Crib Attendant (Barn) to manage inventory, issue tools, and maintain crib and WIP storage areas. You will ensure accurate records, safety, and orderly stock flow on the shop floor.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate forklift and overhead cranes. QAD experience is preferred; strong math/problem-solving helps in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver license and ability to operate forklift.
  • Experience with overhead cranes.
  • Familiarity with TS16949 / ISO-14001 procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with strong math and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Stock and maintain crib inventory and related supplies.
  • Issue tools, equipment, and build materials; record issuance.
  • Deliver items to tooling per BOM; track returns.
  • Locate lost or misplaced tools/materials.
  • Maintain periodic/perpetual inventory counts by value/volume.
  • Put away incoming items in designated locations.
  • Monitor reorder points; replenish stock as needed.
  • Create new crib/WIP locations as required.
  • Inspect tools/equipment for defects; report wear.
  • Monitor scrap hauling; operate truck scale.
  • Place orders via Blanket Requisitions; non-job items.
  • Coordinate battery recycling and vendor returns.
  • Prepare Crib Catalog Entry System docs.
  • Receive/unpack/check incoming MRO shipments.
  • Cross-train for shipping/receiving duties.

AXIS ENGINEERING- Crib Attendant (BARN)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Stock and maintain all inventory within the crib as well as all lubricants, gases, cleaning, and safety supplies.
  • Issues tools, equipment, and build material to workers and maintains records of tools, equipment, and build material issued and returned.
  • Issues commercial parts to jobs/ops as required by BOM, deliver machined and or purchased items to tooling as required.
  • Locates lost or misplaced tools, equipment, and build material.
  • Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools, equipment, copper, and build material by performing scheduled cycle counts by value/volume.
  • Put away and store incoming tools, equipment, copper, build material in designated locations,
  • Monitor/Follow re-order points (min/max levels), requisitions stock to replenish inventory in crib.
  • Assign/create new locations as needed in crib and or WIP/READY storage areas.
  • Inspects and measures tools, equipment, and build material for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
  • Monitor all scrap hauling activity and operate truck scale.
  • Place orders on Blanket Requisitions as well as written requisition for purchasing all non-job-related items for shop floor.
  • Monitor battery recycling program (maintain stock and process battery return to vendor).
  • Prepares documentation for Crib Catalog Entry System.
  • Receive, unpack, and check all incoming MRO shipments as needed to assist receiving.
  • Cross trains to learn all duties of shipping and receiving team members.
  • At times, team members may be required to assist general labor with equipment tear downs, material salvage for repurpose in jobs and critical spares.
  • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
  • Punctual and regular attendance is required.
  • Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
  • Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • *If working in external warehouse (Barn) duties remain consistent with focus on salvage/refurbished parts/tools and or build equipment as opposed to brining in/maintaining new inventory of same/similar products.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Responsible for reading and understanding the TS16949 and ISO-14001 procedures located at K:/winapps/data/TS Team/Procedures
  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • Must be able to safely operate forklift.
  • Must be able to safely operate overhead cranes.
  • High level of commitment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn.
  • Adaptive to a fast-paced environment.
  • Bills of Lading knowledge.
  • QAD experience preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizations
  • Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
