Job summary

The Arc of Palm Beach County Inc in Palm Springs, FL is seeking a hands-on Supervisor to train, supervise, and support crew members with disabilities working on contracted community projects.

As a working supervisor, you will ensure health and safety, provide coaching, and maintain relationships with contract personnel while advocating for the individuals you serve.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with two years of supervisory experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old and pass Level II background screen.
• Prefer two years’ experience in janitorial or maintenance serving individuals with disabilities.
• One year of college may substitute for each year of experience up to four years.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet FDOT certification standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and works with crew members at the work site.
• Provides training and retraining as needed.
• Ensures health, safety and quality standards on all tasks.
• Maintains contact with contract personnel to meet requirements.
• Acts as advocate for individuals with disabilities in the community.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Summary:

The Supervisor is a “Hands on” working supervisor responsible for the training, supervision and welfare of the assigned individual’s w/disabilities working in the community performing contracted work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises and works with individuals w/disabilities (crew members) at the work site.
• Provides crew members training and retraining when necessary.
• Provides quality assurance by inspecting completed work assignment.
• Provides hands-on assistance to crew members while engaged in work assignment.
• Ensures that optimal health and safety practices are being followed at all times.
• Maintains contact with contract personnel to ensure contract requirements are being met.
• Makes environmental modifications at the work site which will assist the individual in better performing work duties.
• Maintains on-going contact with appropriate supported employment staff.
• Provides direct counseling to the individual to minimize social, emotional or behavior problems.
• Serves as an advocate for the individual at the work site/community.
• Maintains a positive relationship with contract management, employees and others at the work/site community.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Possess a High SchoolDiplomaor GED andtwo (2) years supervisory experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and qualify for Level II background screen.
• Prefer two (2) years’ experience in janitorial or maintenance setting serving individuals with disabilities.
• One (1) year of college may substitute for each year of experience up to four (4) years.
• Valid driver license, clean driving record and ability to meet the standards for FDOT certification as condition of employment.
