Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Design Reliability Engineer for Crew Starship to develop design criteria and verification approaches for flight hardware and operational concepts. You will lead peer reviews, integrate with hardware teams, and ensure qualification of proposed changes for flight, launch, and recovery systems.

The role requires collaborating with government customers on certification efforts and tailoring requirements to meet program goals while supporting long hours and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years professional experience in fabrication, assembly, and/or testing.
• Master's degree in an engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop design criteria, requirements, and verification approaches for new systems.
• Ensure design process and criteria are followed for flight, launch, and/or recovery systems, including peer review of hardware designs.
• Drive improvements to vehicle design through close integration with hardware teams.
• Perform verification reviews of hardware and systems.
• Lead spacecraft certification efforts through direct interaction with U.S. Government customers.
• Tailor and negotiating requirements and verifications to meet program goals.
• Review vehicle changes to ensure qualification compliance.
