Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Design Reliability Engineer in Hawthorne, CA to help ensure that flight hardware and concepts meet design requirements from concept to flight. You will drive verification activities, perform peer reviews, and work with hardware teams to improve vehicle designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of fabrication, assembly, or testing experience.
• Experience with aircraft, launch vehicles, or spacecraft is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop design criteria, requirements, and verification approaches for new systems.
• Ensure SpaceX design process and requirements are followed for flight, launch, and recovery systems.
• Provide peer review and approval of hardware designs during design reviews and acceptance/qualification test campaigns.
• Drive improvements to vehicle design through close integration with hardware teams.
• Lead spacecraft certification efforts through direct interaction with U.S. Government customers.
• Review vehicle changes to ensure qualification compliance.
