Crew Member II – Street Sanitation:
Waste and Refuse Collection
Starting Salary: $35,289

Are you ready to make a difference in your community? We are seeking dedicated and physically capable Sanitation Crew Members to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for essential trash and recycling pickup operations while ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our streets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate various street sanitation vehicles, including:
  • Street sweepers
  • Water trucks
  • Trash trucks
  • Dump trucks for snow and leaf removal
  • Recycling trucks
• Drive roll-off trucks to empty dumpsters at recycling centers.
• Perform routine ground maintenance tasks such as:
  • Mowing grass with tractors, mowers, or weed-eaters
  • Sanding icy or oily streets
  • Shoveling snow and raking leaves
  • Cleaning gutters and repairing barricades
• Complete work orders and daily report paperwork accurately.
• Collaborate effectively with co-workers, supervisory staff, and customers.
• Follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Virginia Commercial Driver’s License or obtain one within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks that require strength and stamina.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and the public.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned duties efficiently.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and driving record check.
