Job summary

Nature First Landscaping is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Crew Member to support year‑round residential and commercial landscape maintenance across the Triangle. You will work closely with the Crew Leader, perform mowing, edging, trimming, and weed control on various routes, and assist with planting, cleanup, and installations.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Capable of bending and stooping continually.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Work around environmental risks (bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns).
• Operate with minimal supervision.
• Wear PPE and company uniforms; maintain professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist Crew Leader and train on grounds maintenance.
• Mow, edge, trim, blow, and bed weed on routes.
• Dig, plant, rake, water landscapes; general cleanup.
• Hedge trimming and seasonal leaf/debris cleanup.
• Load/unload equipment and planting materials from trucks.
• Maintain inventory of company equipment daily.
• Assist with enhancement and installation projects as needed.
• Maintain reliable transportation to and from the shop.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment: mowers, turf equipment, power tools, hand tools.

Position Overview

The Grounds Maintenance Crew Member is a hands‑on landscaping position assisting with year‑round residential and commercial landscape maintenance services across the Triangle.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist the Crew Leader and train on all aspects of grounds maintenance
• Mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and bed weeding on residential and commercial routes
• Digging, planting, raking, watering, and general clean‑up of landscapes
• Hedge trimming and seasonal leaf and debris cleanup
• Load and unload equipment and planting materials from trucks and trailers
• Ensure collection and inventory of company‑owned equipment and tools daily
• Assist with enhancement and installation projects as needed
• Maintain reliable transportation to and from the shop
• Ensure the safe operation and basic routine maintenance of the following equipment:Mowers:Push, walk‑behind, and ride‑on mowers
• Turf Equipment:Tillers, aerators, and seeders
• Power Tools:Edgers, string trimmers, chainsaws, backpack blowers, sprayers
• Hand Tools:Shovels, picks, rakes, and pruning tools

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis

• Must wear sturdy shoes, company‑issued uniforms, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Must present oneself in a professional and polite manner to clients and the public
• Must practice strict safety protocols when handling chemicals and operating equipment
• Must wear provided eye and ear protection as required
• Valid NC driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Good communication skills and a team‑first attitude
• Must comply with all Nature First Landscaping policies and procedures
