Job summary

Carr’s Tree Service is seeking crew members for hands-on outdoor work in the upper Midwest. You’ll perform tree care tasks, including pruning, trimming, and removal, and support climbers with rigging and aerial operations. Daily safety briefings and strict PPE use are required.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and professional interaction with property owners and public officials. Training opportunities and a clear path for advancement are offered.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job and work in all weather conditions.
  • Willing to learn and accept coaching and feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety policies and wear PPE at all times.
  • Prune, trim, and remove trees as part of crew operations.
  • Operate chainsaws, wood chippers and related equipment safely.
  • Assist climbers with rigging systems and aerial operations.
  • Interact professionally with property owners and municipal officials.
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment; coordinate staging of gear.

Grow with a company that values hard work, safety, and teamwork.Whether you’re just starting your career or have experience in tree care, equipment operation, or related fields, we’d like to hear from you!Primary Responsibilities of a Crew:Safety & ComplianceFollow all company safety policies and procedures.Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.Participate in daily job briefings and safety meetings.Identify and communicate potential job site hazards to crew leadership.Tree Care OperationsTree pruning, trimming, and removal operations.Ground operations including brush chipping, brush mowing, chainsaw work, and site cleanup.Stump grinding and debris removal.Emergency tree services such as storm damage response.Climbing & Rigging SupportAssist climbers and arborists with rigging systems and aerial operations.Staging of equipment and materials for safe and efficient tree work.Equipment Operation & MaintenanceSafely operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers, and brush mowers (based on training and experience).Inspect equipment daily and report mechanical or safety concerns to crew leadership.Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition.Customer & Public InteractionInteract professionally with property owners, municipal officials, and the public.Follow direction from crew leadership when working on customer or municipal properties.Represent Carr’s Tree Service with professionalism and respect at all times.Teamwork & DevelopmentWork cooperatively with crew members and leadership to complete jobs efficiently.Willingly learn new skills and accept coaching and feedback.Contribute to a positive, productive team environment.Who we are:At Carr’s Tree Service, our mission is to provide safe and reliable tree services to our utility, residential, and government clients by combining teamwork, professional arboricultural practices, and an excellent customer experience at competitive prices.
