Job summary

Smoky Mountain Kona Ice in the Greater Knoxville Area is seeking motivated drivers to join our Kona Ice Krew. This fast-paced, fun role involves operating mobile shaved ice trucks at events, serving customers, restocking, and keeping units clean while delivering outstanding service to schools, festivals, and weddings.

Requirements include 18+, a valid driver's license, weekend availability, strong customer service and communication, reliability, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license and reliable mode of transportation.
• Weekend and some holiday availability.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong self-initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Reliability and responsibility to work all facets of the job independently.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive the Kona Ice trucks to and from events.
• Restock or clean units and facilities as scheduled.
• Maintain a safe, pleasant work environment and work well with team members.
• Report to scheduled shifts at event sites or the Maryville, TN office.
• Provide superior service with speed and accuracy.
• Comply with hygiene and sanitation guidelines.
• Complete prep and stocking before and after shifts.
• Complete pre- and post-event checklists for vehicles.
• Communicate maintenance and inventory needs to staff.
• Possibility to tow Kona Ice equipment.

We are looking for motivated and charismatic drivers to join our local Krew. You must be honest, friendly, outgoing, and enjoy working with children and crowds. Kona Ice Krew Members need to have flexible schedules with a focused priority on meeting the needs of our customers. Your job location will vary from day-to-day. Some days you may be restocking or cleaning the units & facilities; the next day you're serving a school, corporate picnic, or even a wedding!Have you ever been to a sporting event at the University of Tennessee? A giant festival at World’s Fair Park? We serve them ALL!

• Entrusted with independence - ability to operate events solo from start-to-finish
• Perform cleaning of Kona Ice trucks & facilities with regularly scheduled deep cleans
• Maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment and work well with other team members
• Promptly report to scheduled shifts at event sites or the main office in Maryville, TN (about 5 minutes from McGhee Tyson Airport)
• Safely drive the Kona Ice trucks to and from events
• Correspond with clients' on-site contacts for necessary guidance in logistical changes
• Provide superior, courteous service to clients and customers with speed and accuracy
• Comply with the hygiene, health, and sanitation guidelines
• Complete beginning- and end-of-shift prepping and stocking
• Accurately complete pre- & post-event checklists for evaluating Kona Ice vehicles
• Ability to accurately read, count, and complete documentation
• Communicate maintenance & inventory needs to appropriate staff
• Willing to learn / be entrusted to tow Kona Ice equipment
