Job Summary:

This position provides safe, high-quality, well-maintained, and aesthetically pleasing sports fields and facilities while offering excellent customer service. It is a working supervisor role, leading a team of full-time and part-year staff responsible for sports field maintenance, including:

• Softball and baseball field maintenance and preparation
• Grass field maintenance and layout
• Synthetic field maintenance
• Routine maintenance of related spaces and structures

Salary and Application Details:

The salary range is $28.48 - $39.87 per hour, with a hiring range of $28.48 - $34.17, depending on experience and qualifications.

Position Highlights:

This is a full-time position with benefits. The Crew Leader will oversee staff focused on high-quality sports fields for local, regional, and national events. The role requires strong leadership and customer service skills. Work hours are flexible, averaging 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained athletic fields and infrastructure
• Lead routine maintenance and renovation of various sports fields and related facilities
• Assess field surfaces regularly for safety and functionality
• Contribute directly to maintenance tasks using appropriate tools and troubleshooting skills
• Optimize resource use through staff development, planning, and resource allocation
• Suggest policy and procedure improvements, including budgeting
• Respond flexibly to changing needs, resolve conflicts independently
• Accurately communicate and maintain records
• Build professional relationships and assist with seasonal activities and other duties

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Park Management or related field required
• At least 4 years of experience in park maintenance or sports field management
• Relevant certifications, including pesticide use and driver’s license, required within specified timelines
• Knowledge of turf management and supervisory skills essential

Physical and Working Conditions:

• Frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, and light tool use
• Exposure to outdoor elements, heat, and noise
