Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a Landscaping Crew Lead to guide a team in grounds maintenance tasks at a MCRD site. You will train participants, supervise daily landscape work, and ensure high quality outcomes while fostering a supportive work environment.

You will lead hands-on tasks, provide direction, and monitor progress, with emphasis on teaching job skills and achieving employer standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping services including with heavy machinery (riding mower, chainsaw, trimmer).
• HS Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
• Valid CA Drivers License with clean driving record; able and willing to transport participants.

Responsibilities

• Providing direction and completing landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, edging and minor irrigation.
• Ensuring completion of work tasks as required by the employer and/or established procedures.
• Providing on-going training to participants throughout the workday as needed.
• Collecting and recording data on participants goals as required.
• Communicating effectively and professionally with employer and other employees at the work site.
• Emulating exemplary work behaviors at all times.

Job description

We are currently hiring a Landscaping Crew Lead to join our team. The Crew Leader, provides support and training to participants working in group supported employment. The role completes landscape tasks as part of a daily work load, and ensures quality and quantity of all work completed meet employer expectations. The role utilizes standard training techniques to teach participants to perform grounds maintenance tasks according to guidelines established by the Supervisor and employer. In addition, the Crew Leader provides training and support to participants to improve social, personal, and other work-related skills.

Location: MCRD

Schedule: Mon- Fri 7a-3p

Pay: The pay for this position is $21.52 to $21.52.
