DeAngelo Contracting Services, LLC is seeking a Crew Leader to perform highway maintenance and related tasks, training in routine maintenance. You will oversee field crews and ensure work complies with FDOT standards and TTC requirements.

The role requires five years of infra maintenance experience, strong planning and supervision skills, English communication, and a current Right-of-Way Pest Control license with required categories.

Competenze

• Five or more years of infrastructure maintenance or construction experience.
• Experience planning and monitoring field personnel work activities; able to prepare timesheets/reports.
• Thorough knowledge of highway maintenance practices, materials, and equipment.
• Knowledge of MUTCD and traffic control procedures for work zones.
• Experience operating contractor equipment and hand/power tools.
• Clear oral and written English communication.
• Current Florida Dept. of Agriculture Commercial Applicator license in Right-of-Way and Aquatic Pest Control; TTC course completed and TTC certificate current.

Job Description

DCS Asset Maintenance is seeking a Crew Leader to conduct a variety of Highway Maintenance Services, as well as other related task. We are seeking a qualified applicant that will train in Highway/Roadway Routine Maintenance.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mowing, and clearing brush from roadsides.
• Patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders.
• Assist in storm cleanup.
• Fence and sign repair.
• Litter/debris removal.
• Emergency response.
• Operate equipment used in Highway Maintenance.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
• Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of infrastructure maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Demonstrated experience planning and monitoring the work activities of field personnel providing highway construction and/or maintenance activities. Must be able to prepare timesheets and/or reports via hardcopy written documentation.
• Thorough knowledge of practices, materials, methods and equipment used in routine highway maintenance activities.
• Working knowledge of the Department’s Standard Plans for Road and Bridge Construction and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and other traffic control procedures for work zones.
• Working knowledge of the operation, repair and maintenance of equipment supplied by the Contractor and other equipment utilized in performing the activities defined in the scope of work.
• Ability to clearly communicate orally and written in English.
• Willing to possess a current Florida Department of Agriculture Commercial Applicator’s license with the categories of licensure in Right-of-Way Pest Control and Aquatic Pest Control. All insecticides and herbicides must be applied by, or directly supervised by, an employee who possesses a current Florida Department of Agriculture Commercial Applicator’s license with the categories of licensure in Right-of-Way Pest Control and Aquatic Pest Control. This will allow any position on the crew to have the license. Whoever is licensed must follow F.A.C. 5E-9, Licensed Pesticide Applicators and Dealers.
• Successful completion of an FDOT approved Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) advanced course and always maintain the TTC certificate or card on their person while performing work.
