Job summary

Technibus, Inc. seeks a Crew Lead - Security Systems to supervise technicians on-site and coordinate installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of Access Control, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion Detection Systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Security Systems Technicians on assigned projects.

Crew Lead - Security Systems | Job Summary

The Crew Lead - Security Systems serves as the on-site leader responsible for supervising technicians and coordinating the installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of Card Access, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion Detection Systems. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to engineered drawings, manufacturer specifications, company standards, and customer requirements.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and supervise Security Systems Technicians on assigned projects.

  • Coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Install, program, test, and troubleshoot:

    • Access Control Systems

    • CCTV / Video Surveillance Systems

    • CATV Systems

    • Intrusion Detection Systems



  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to technicians.

  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce company and customer safety standards.

  • Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with project specifications.

  • Coordinate project activities with the Security Systems Project Manager.

  • Complete and maintain all required project documentation, including:

    • Other required project paperwork



  • Serve as the primary on-site customer contact for project-related questions and concerns.

  • Attend construction, facility, and project coordination meetings as required.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Support successful project execution through leadership, planning, and clear communication.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Qualifications


  • Strong experience installing and programming security systems.

  • Working knowledge of:

    • Access Control Systems

    • CCTV and Video Management Systems

    • Intrusion Detection Systems

    • CATV Systems

    • Low-Voltage Infrastructure



  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineered drawings.

  • Proven leadership experience supervising technicians and field personnel.

  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, project managers, and team members.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.

Physical and Mental Requirements:



  • Regular attendance is mandatory

  • The General Superintendent must be self‑motivated, positive in approach, and convey an appropriate professional image.

  • The General Superintendent must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.

  • The General Superintendent must possess proven problem‑solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).

  • The General Superintendent must also have excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop branch and job processes and best practices.

  • The General Superintendent must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.

  • The General Superintendent must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.

  • The General Superintendent must possess the ability to learn and teach the Company and customer project management systems.

  • The General Superintendent must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.

  • Must be able to stand and walk very large job sites regularly.

  • The General Superintendent must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.


Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:



  • Prefer a minimum of five (5) years’ experience of supervisory or managerial experience.

  • The General Superintendent must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.

  • The General Superintendent must also have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.

  • Must be proficient with a computer and be skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).

  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.

  • The General Superintendent Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, create an estimate, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.

  • Must be able to use the following trade Tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt‑ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester and 5‑gang punch tool.
