Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States is seeking a Lot Operations Specialist II to efficiently manage vehicle movement on the lot. You will use tools and mobile devices to track each vehicle, communicate schedules, and support the supervisor in directing the crew.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years in related work, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to safety. The position is at Cox locations with day shift and potential overtime as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 3+ years in a related field.
  • Valid driver''s license required; ability to drive vehicles.
  • Experience in lot operations and knowledge of local roads preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Increase driver productivity using tools and track vehicles by lot location.
  • Use mobile devices to ensure proper vehicle flow.
  • Assist supervisor in directing crew and assigning work.
  • Communicate schedules and assignments to drivers.
  • Orient and train new drivers on duties.
  • Shuttle employees to parking lots on sale days and at remote sites.
  • Perform daily vehicle maintenance and servicing.
  • Model safe work practices and enforce safety policies.
  • Lead the team at the location and uphold Cox/Manheim values.
  • Oversee compliance with company policies and conduct.
  • May require overtime as needed.

Company Cox Automotive - USA Job Family Group Vehicle Operations Job Profile Lot Operations Specialist II Management Level Individual Contributor Flexible Work Option No remote option; must work at a specified Cox location Travel % No Work Shift Day Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description
  • Efficiently and effectively utilize tools and technology to increase driver productivity and track each vehicle moved with its lot location.
  • Utilize mobile device to ensure proper flow of vehicles.
  • Assist supervisor in directing the work of employees.
  • Communicate schedules and assignments to the crew members.
  • Orient and instruct new drivers regarding their job duties.
  • Shuttle employees to and from auxiliary parking lots on sale days; provide transportation to employees parking inventoried vehicles at remote sites.
  • Perform daily maintenance and routine checks of the van and clean and service the vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Effectively leads the team at the location by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
  • The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
  • 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
Preferred
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge (i.e., changing flat tires, checking fluids, jump starting vehicles.)
  • Knowledge of lot operations/lot layout required.
  • Knowledge of local roadways, hotels, airports and restaurants preferred.
  • Ability to effectively use mobile devices including scanners to manage workflow.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.

To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.

  • Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
