Job summary

Wright Outdoor Solutions is seeking a Crew Leader – Arbor to lead an Arboreal crew on full-time, year-round projects. The role emphasizes safety, precision, efficiency, and top-notch customer service under the supervision of the Arbor Supervisor.

Responsibilities include training crew members, interpreting work orders, coordinating with weather conditions, and maintaining equipment and records. A CDL may be required within 30 days; travel and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the industry.
  • Knowledge of ANSI Z133.1‑2000 safety standards.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CDL within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist training of crew to meet quality standards.
  • Read and comprehend daily work orders for crews.
  • Decide start/stop times based on weather; adapt as needed.
  • Maintain good customer relations and on-site professionalism.
  • Keep accurate records, timesheets, and crew performance reports.
  • Load/unload logs, stumps, brush, and debris; feed brush to woodchipper.

Job Title

Crew Leader – Arbor (FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt). Reports to: Supervisor.

Job Summary

The Arbor Crew Leader is responsible for leading an Arbor crew to complete various projects within the Arbor line of business. The Crew Leader promotes job‑site safety, completes projects with precision and efficiency, provides excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship. This is a full‑time, year‑round position performed under the general supervision of the Arbor Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions
  • Lead and assist with training crew members so that proper procedures, processes, and quality of work are followed to achieve company quality standards.
  • Read and comprehend daily work orders for crews.
  • Determine when to start and stop work based on inclement weather conditions.
  • Promote and maintain good customer and public relations through effective completion of assigned work.
  • Assist with keeping accurate records, timesheets, and reports related to crew performance.
  • Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris, and/or feed brush into a woodchipper.
  • Be knowledgeable about and relay industry‑related hand‑signals to communicate effectively with crew and traffic.
  • Repair slight damage to lawns, fences, and walks caused by property damage on site.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
  • Maintain work vehicle and tools to be clean, organized, and in operational condition daily.
  • Work flexible hours in all weather conditions to accommodate the seasonality of the industry.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working in the industry.
  • Familiarity with the American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z133.1‑2000).
  • Valid driver’s license; able to obtain a commercial driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid First‑Aid and CPR cards or willingness to obtain one.
  • Position may require some outside travel.
  • May be required to be on duty during emergencies or natural disasters for the duration of the event.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, climb, kneel, lift up to 75 lbs., and walk for extended periods.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to handle stress and multi‑task.
  • Exposure to all temperatures and weather; will be exposed to nature, irritant plants, biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to perform job duties and to interact with employees and customers.
