Role Description The Crew Lead is a full-time, on-site position based in Hayward, CA, responsible for overseeing daily landscape maintenance and enhancement activities. This role coordinates and leads a crew in tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, irrigation checks, and basic tree and turf care, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The Crew Lead organizes job sites, assigns tasks, monitors quality, and communicates with supervisors and clients as needed about schedules, site issues, and progress. Additional responsibilities include maintaining equipment, supporting training of crew members, following safety protocols, and documenting work performed and materials used.

Qualifications

• Experience leading landscape or grounds crews, including task delegation, on-site supervision, and mentoring team members.
• Knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance practices, including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and basic tree and turf care.
• Understanding of irrigation and water management, including identifying issues, making basic repairs, and optimizing water use.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, site plans, and schedules, and to communicate clearly with clients, supervisors, and crew members.
• Commitment to safety, including proper use of tools and equipment, adherence to safety procedures, and promotion of safe work habits.
• Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and operating landscape equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to worksites in the Hayward, CA area as required.
• Previous experience in commercial landscaping or related fields; experience in the Bay Area market is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; bilingual communication skills are an advantage.
