Crew I Drivers Helper - Clean Start - Represented

This position is part of the Clean Start team, responsible for janitorial and administrative tasks such as mobile trash pick-up in public places where people are experiencing homelessness, and coordinating with Portland Police Bureau Neighborhood Response Team (NRT) officers.

Location:

Clean Start - 208 NW 1st Ave, Portland, OR 97209

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Compensation:

$19.58/hour

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least six months of experience with outdoor cleaning/janitorial, preferably with Clean Start.
  • Six months of experience with biohazard identification and disposal, preferably with Clean Start.
  • Effective communication skills with staff, police, the public, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Ability to comply with drug-free workplace policies and pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Possibility of carrying an agency cell phone for work.
  • Adherence to non-discrimination policies and respect for diverse backgrounds.
Essential Duties:
  • Mobile trash pick-up at locations with homeless populations.
  • Coordinate with NRT officers and outreach workers to develop patrol routes.
  • Communicate with community partners and document activities.
  • Remove trash and debris, including bio-hazards and needles.
  • Operate agency communication devices and respond promptly.
  • Follow privacy regulations and agency policies, including HIPAA and confidentiality agreements.
  • Perform detailed cleaning and special projects.
  • Track activities and report incidents.
  • Attend meetings and trainings.
