Job summary

Job description

Performs intermediate skilled trades work maintaining assigned landscaped areas and supervising a crew, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Senior Crew Coordinator. Continuous oversight is exercised over all personnel within the team.

• Maintains landscape areas in parks; prunes trees and shrubs; prepares soil and plants various vegetation; applies mulch; waters, edges, fertilizes, and weeds grounds.
• Coordinates and oversees landscaping crew; completes work orders, schedules and assigns work to crew; completes daily work records; performs basic vehicle inspections.
• Operates and directs operation of equipment used for landscaping.
• Performs snow and ice removal duties for City parking lots and sidewalks.
• Installs landscaping according to project plans.
• Flags areas for lane closures in order to perform landscaping duties.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with landscaping and equipment, and supervising a crew, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and department policies, practices, and procedures; thorough knowledge of related industry organization, and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances, and laws; thorough knowledge of pesticide application; thorough knowledge of landscaping equipment; general knowledge of work orders, vehicle maintenance reports, and performance appraisals; through knowledge of standard office software; general knowledge of standard accounting software; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions or decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, associates, and the general public.

Physical Requirements:
