Job summary

GST, based in Cerritos, California, is seeking an AV Control System Programmer to design, test, and deploy control code, touch panels, and DSP configurations for enterprise, education, and government projects.

The role blends hands-on programming with on-site commissioning, requiring work with Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, QSC, and related technologies, plus travel to job sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
• 3+ years Crestron or AMX programming in commercial AV environments.
• Hands-on experience with AV control systems, video conferencing, switching hardware, AV-over-IP and DSP setup/calibration.

Responsibilities

• Program, test, and deploy control systems on Crestron, AMX, and Extron platforms.
• Design intuitive and consistent touch panel user interfaces.
• Develop custom modules, device drivers, and automation logic.
• Configure and tune DSP platforms (Biamp, QSC, BSS, etc.).
• Review AV drawings, schematics, and signal flow diagrams.
• Perform in-house testing and on-site commissioning, verification, and acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot integrated AV, control, and network systems.
• Support project teams, manufacturers, and clients as needed.
• Maintain programming documentation, standards, and version control.
• Travel to job sites as required.

What You'll Do

Qualifications

Education/ Experience & Technical Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of Crestron or AMX programming in commercial AV environments
• Hands‑on experience with AV control systems, video conferencing, switching hardware, AV‑over‑IP and -DSP setup/calibration
• Strong understanding of audio DSP setup, tuning, and calibration
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex AV, control, and network issues

Required Certifications

• Harman Certified Control Professional (CP)
• Extron GC-Pro
• Crestron and/or AMX programming certifications

Preferred Certifications

• CTS or CTS‑D
• Advanced Crestron, Extron, or AMX certifications
• Networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+)
