A leading organization in North Carolina is seeking an Eastern Regional CREP Specialist to provide technical assistance and outreach for environmental conservation programs. This role involves working with landowners and partners to enhance water quality and wildlife habitats. The position is home-based with required travel within the eastern territory.
The Division of Soil and Water Conservation seeks a motivated professional to provide technical assistance and conduct outreach activities for the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP).
CREP is a voluntary program, utilizing federal and state resources, that provides incentives to encourage the enrollment of environmentally sensitive farmland and marginal pastureland into long term agreements to restore and protect riparian buffers and wetlands. Practices are designed to reduce nutrient and sediment impacts to stream courses within the targeted area resulting in improvements to water quality and enhanced wildlife habitat.
This position will serve as the Eastern Regional CREP Specialist for the eastern portion of the program area. They will work with private landowners and federal, state, and county partners to provide technical assistance, training, and outreach activities in the region. The position will also be expected to perform routine field work and monitor CREP easements for compliance throughout the eastern program area.
Position will be home-based. Travel will be required at times. Must reside in one of the following counties of the work territory:

You may qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience, either through years of education or years of directly related experience, or a combination of both.
Bachelor's degree in one of the agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences or a closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Any employment offer may be less than the maximum of the range due to salary equity with similarly situated employees or the selected candidate's related education and experience.
