Lee Health’s Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers seeks a Staff Interpreter to provide medical interpretation for non-English patients and staff. The role includes oral and written interpretation, translation of documents, and facilitating communication across departments.

Sign Language interpretation is provided when needed for Deaf and Hard of Hearing patients. The candidate must be fluent in English and the source language, with strong customer service and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: Health field and interpretation for medical personnel preferred; minimum 2 years bilingual in English and the source language.
• Certification: Medical interpreting certificate preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide both oral and written interpretation for non-English speaking patients and staff.
• Explain hospital policies and procedures to patients and families.
• Coordinate with departments to facilitate communication and scheduling training.
