Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in East Moline, IL for an onsite contract-to-hire role. You will lead 3D Creo designs, tooling, and weldments for diverse customer applications while guiding projects from concept to delivery and mentoring junior engineers.

The role emphasizes collaboration to shape engineering standards and workflows, with direct customer interaction and growth into broader leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
4+ years of mechanical design experience in a professional setting.
Proficiency with Creo for 3D CAD modeling and design.
Hands-on experience designing tooling and fixturing.

Responsibilities

Create detailed 3D CAD models and mechanical designs in Creo for customer applications.
Manage engineering projects from concept through delivery, including timelines and resources.
Design tooling and die fixtures meeting performance, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
Develop weldment designs that are structurally sound and cost-effective.
Mentor other engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.
