Job summary

Hill International, Inc. in Berkeley, California seeks a Mechanical CAD Designer to create and refine 3D mechanical models in Creo Parametric. You will build complex assemblies, translate requirements into detailed designs, and prepare GD&T drawings and BOMs for fabrication and assembly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical design, engineering technology, drafting/design, or equivalent CAD experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience using PTC Creo Parametric for mechanical CAD design.
• Ability to build and manage complex assemblies with advanced modeling methods (patterns, sweeps, trajectories, top-down design).
• Experience producing manufacturing-ready Creo drawings with GD&T, multi-sheet assemblies, BOMs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed 3D mechanical models using Creo Parametric or approved CAD software.
• Develop, evaluate, and refine mechanical design concepts in collaboration with engineering personnel.
• Build and manage complex assemblies with parent-child relationships and advanced modeling techniques.
• Prepare manufacturing- and assembly-ready drawing packages including GD&T and BOMs.
• Communicate design intent with sufficient detail for fabrication, installation, and testing.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and project personnel to meet requirements and schedules.
• Participate in design reviews and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain organized models and documentation within Windchill or designated systems.
