Overview

Provides staff supervision and support to team leads and credits team members. Compiles and produces reports related to team performance, credits trending, and progress on action plans to meet KPIs.

Job Highlights
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create credits trending and analysis reports to monitor credits inflow, root cause analysis, and resource planning to meet credit balance aging goals.
  • Track and monitor staff productivity and accuracy; maintain reports with daily, weekly, monthly, and YTD data. Use data for goal setting, bonus calculations, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure team understands performance standards, including productivity, quality, and attendance.
  • Perform coaching and performance management as needed.
  • Work with vendor partners supporting credit workflows through regular touchpoints to review metrics and progress.
  • Ensure accurate review and resolution of credit balances to meet goals.
  • Provide training and ongoing education for staff, including during weekly huddles and annual reviews.
  • Encourage skill improvement and development plans for team members.
  • Assist with workflow issues, policy questions, and problem-solving.
  • Enforce compliance and follow policies and procedures.
  • Understand government and commercial refund requirements and regulations.
  • Develop strategies to resolve revenue cycle problems.
  • Participate in pathway development with Education and Training Teams.
  • Act as liaison with other departments to address issues.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Delegate work to stay current with priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting to: Team Leads and associates in the Credits/Refunds department.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing data from systems like Billing System and Power BI.
  • Skilled in calculating charges, payments, and adjustments.
  • Knowledge of patient accounting systems and financial setup.
  • Understanding of EOBs and adjustment codes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Positive disposition and high tolerance for diverse opinions.
  • Ability to work independently and motivate a team.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Education/Training/Experience
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in anesthesia billing or related field.
  • Supervisory experience in medical billing and collections preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting for prolonged periods, computer work.
  • Manual dexterity for office equipment.
  • Normal hearing and eyesight for communication and report preparation.
  • Typing speed of at least 50 wpm.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
Working Conditions
